November 8, 2007 – 9:59 amAfter months of not blogging, I’m here again starting a new blog in my tight schedule. When I say tight, my schedule is very tight, but soon it’ll be freed up and I’ll have a flexible schedule. I registered the domain Rongila.com a long time back and I decided to use it for this blog’s domain.
What does Rongila mean?
Rongila is a desi word, eastern indian, referring around culture, specifically refering to the desi culture. Rongila is a modified form of the word rong or rang, meaning color, as in the colorful desi culture.
For one year I used to blog about technology and entertainment on DesiNotes.com. I built up DesiNotes to be widely known on the web by spending about $500 in marketing. About four months back I sold that blog to an individual, Vinay K., in Dhubai.
Plans for Rongila.com Blog
I blogged for about a year in the past so, I’ve gained a lot of experience in what to do and what not to do. I can build up popularity in a short amount of time just by talking and negotiating with others so I hope it won’t be hard to build up the popularity of this blog. I’m not going to blog for money this time, because then it takes the whole love out of blogging. However, once the blog is established I might add a little advertising here and there just so this blog will pay for itself. I plan to blog about the issues that affects desis such as the culture from South Asia, ABCD culture in the western countries, and anything and everything that desis are interested in.
I’m going to take my time writing my articles so you may or may not see a new article everyday. Once this blog is established, after 90 days or so, I plan on inviting two individuals, one from India and the other from Pakistan, to write for this blog. Along the line I will invite more people with South Asian ancestry to write for this blog.
Theme Design
For this blog I plan on just installing a simple, yet an attractive theme, for catching the visitors’ eyes and for quick loading, let’s see how it goes.
