Problems with Grooms from Abroad
February 27, 2008 – 1:53 amA lot of parents are crazy for young grooms from abroad who are settled in western countries and who have a good education. However, a lot of the Desi parents overlook the culture that some of these young men experience while living abroad. Some of the factors of the western culture is legalized gambling, public night clubs, and public drinking of alcohol, which differentiates young men living in Bangladesh and other Desi countries from the ones living in the US, UK, and elsewhere in the western world. I’m not biased, I’m a young bachelor from USA so I based my judgment on the peers around me. I’m not saying all young bachelors are bad but to from my observation, most of them are.
The following is a natok called Ek Tukro Neel which relates to grooms from abroad. The elders from the bride’s side approved a bachelor for their daughter just because he was from abroad.
